Welcome to the 25th issue of Geospatial Jobs, a career newsletter focusing on data science and geosciences (🌧climatetech, 🌽agtech, 🌊risk modeling, ⚡️energy, 🛰remote sensing, ♻️sustainability, and more). To check out previous issues, click here.
📢🚨 Hiatus coming up! ✌️
This issue marks one year since I started this volunteer effort. Thanks again to all of you who shared the newsletter and helped it grow. After this issue, I have some personal plans coming up in the coming weeks, and the newsletter will go on a break for at least 6 weeks.
While this has been a great way for me to have a tiny contribution to the geospatial community and early careers, I’m not totally sure if I will be regularly compiling job lists after June. The main reason for my hesitation is the opportunity cost and the effectiveness of this approach (+ the fact that my email is being marked as spam by some people 🤐😀). Looking back at the archive, I may have spent about 150-200 hours on this newsletter. Our time is limited and we can only choose a few things to pursue. For me at this stage, there are several interesting topics that I’m interested to learn and experience (e.g. a few data science tools and courses + a couple of collaboration opportunities + more about product development, business planning, big tech, etc.), and those will take a considerable chunk of my spare time. Cheers!
