Welcome to the 60th issue of Geospatial Jobs, a career newsletter focusing on data science and geosciences (🌧climate-tech, 🌽ag-tech, 🌊risk modeling, ⚡️energy, 🛰remote sensing, ♻️sustainability, and more).
The paywall on issue #57 is now removed and it’s freely accessible. This issue includes 42 engineering positions (🇺🇸20, 🇬🇧10, etc.) and a lot of research roles.
📊 Newsletter stats after introducing paid option:
If you've been following the newsletter for a while, you’ll know I used to publish every 3 weeks or so. Since introducing the paid option on Oct 1, I’ve shared weekly issues, plus an extra one with insights from Jett Metcalf, a seasoned geospatial recruiter. I’ve also been lifting the paywalls after a couple of weeks. Paid subscribers, for about the cost of two cups of coffee a month, get early access and a better shot at new positions—at least, that’s Jett’s take! (p.s. I may change things in the future)
It used to be that after sharing each issue, ~10 people unsubscribed and ~15 new subscribers joined, and then there was a steady ~8 subs per day afterwards. Over the past month, unsubscribes have increased to ~40 per issue, and the subscription rate has remained steady. Here’s a figure for it (as of Nov 1):
The open rate used to be around 57% and it’s now at about 54%, not a considerable change given the higher frequency. Zooming out, it’s all just newsletter shenanigans—nobody’s that interested 😀 I’m just crunching some numbers and seeing what sticks :)
